Appointed as the Task Force Coordinator of the SOE National Disaster Response in Rembang Regency, This is How Semen Gresik Makes It Happen

Rembang, April 22, 2020 - The launching of the Post of the National Disaster Response Task Force of SOEs to tackle Covid-19 in Rembang Regency, which was held on Wednesday (22/4), was attended by the Regent of Rembang, Abdul Hafidz, and his staffs. The task force that is coordinated by PT Semen Gresik is assigned to coordinate SOEs in Rembang Regency to encourage Covid-19 handling acceleration, which is regarded as a non-natural national disaster by the government.

 

During the event, the logistical assistance and personal protective equipment, such as medical masks as well as cloth face masks, portable sinks, even quarantine houses were handed over to Rembang Regency to tackle Covid-19.

 

The logical assistance was handed over by the President Director of PT Semen Gresik, Mukhamad Saifudin, and received by Abdul Hafidz, the Head of Covid-19 Response Acceleration Task Force in Rembang Regency. Muchammad Supriyadi as the head of Post of the National Disaster Response Task Force of SOEs to tackle Covid-19 in Central Java, Board of Directors of PT Semen Gresik, Subakti as the Regional Secretary, and Budi Asmara as the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency also attended this event.

 

The President Director of PT Semen Gresik, Mukhamad Saifudin, remarked before the launching of the Post of the National Disaster Response by SOEs in Rembang Regency that the company has been active in tackling Covid-19. The activities varied from spraying disinfectant on all road segments in Rembang Regency, Covid-19 testing station in Rembang border area, and many others. Until the mid of April, the total of the donation granted by Semen Gresik to tackle Covid-19 has reached more than IDR 1.5 billion.

 

He and his staff hoped that the presence of this Post of the National Disaster Response of SOE could encourage Covid-19 handling acceleration in the Rembang Regency. The establishment of this post in the regency level coordinated by Semen Gresik is considered the next move after the Ministry of SOEs formed task forces in the Central Java area. The regency level post is expected to be able to facilitate all efforts in tackling Covid-19 in the area.

We present the spirit of SOEs to Indonesia through this post of the national disaster response,” Mukhamad Saifudin explained, Wednesday (22/4/2020).

 

The secretariat of the Post of the National Disaster Response Task Force of SOEs to tackle Covid-19 is located in Akademi Semen Indonesia (AKSI), Rembang. The task force, which was chaired by Gatot Mardiana as the Head of Department of Communication and Law of PT Semen Gresik, supervise SOEs in Rembang Regency. Some of those are PT PLN (Persero), Perhutani, Telkom, Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, BTN, Bulog (Indonesia Logistics Bureau), Permodalan Nasional Mandiri (PNM), Jamkrindo, Pertamina, Pegadaian, Taspen, and many others.

 

Any supports collected by the National Disaster Response Task Force of SOEs will be distributed to three main targets. Cloth face masks and portable sink for handwashing are prioritized to the community. Meanwhile, for the Community Health Centers, the task force distributed reusable PPEs. Specifically, for referral hospitals for Covid-19 in Rembang Regency, they will be given disposable PPEs, vitamins and medicines, as well as medical masks.

 

“The synergy with the task force to encourage Covid-19 handling acceleration in Rembang Regency, as well as other elements, will always be intensified. Semen Gresik as the member of Semen Indonesia Group (SIG) and also part of the SOEs look forward to actively participating and giving a real contribution in accelerating Covid-19 handling in Rembang Regency,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Rembang, H. Abdul Hafidz, really appreciated the PPE supports and logistical assistance to accelerate Covid-19 handling. It was due to the trend of Covid-19 cases in Rembang Regency, which keeps rising. According to the data, there were 525 people recorded as person under monitoring (PUM), 43 people recorded as patients under surveillance (PUS), and three people were confirmed positive for Covid-19.

 

“On behalf of the regional government and the Head of National Disaster Response Task Force in tackling Covid-19 in Rembang Regency, we’d like to extend our sincere gratitude. These PPEs are really helpful. Among 43 people recorded as PUS, 18 of them were hospitalized, 5 of them have passed away, and the rest have recovered,” Abdul Hafidz explained.

He and his staff expected the coordination between the Post of National Disaster Response Task Force of SOEs in Rembang Regency coordinated by Semen Gresik with the institutions he led can be more synergic. The communication should be strengthened, so that all of the efforts are carried out more appropriately and hit the mark.

“We should not walk independently. There are three aspects of handling Covid-19. Those are recovery, economic impact, and social impact. Let us synergize to gain the optimal result,” he added.
