Distributing 125 Stalls to Hundreds of Vegetable Vendors throughout Rembang Regency, a Form of Support for Community Welfare
Rembang, November 7th, 2024 – PT Semen Gresik as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or SIG through the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) Baznas PT Semen Gresik distributed 125 rombongs to hundreds of mobile vegetable vendors in Rembang Regency.
Chairman of UPZ Baznas PT Semen Gresik, Nurhadi, said that this program is one of the economic programs from RKAT 2024 and as a form of the company's commitment to community empowerment in the company's operational area.
“We strive to support the improvement of the welfare of small traders, especially the traveling vegetable traders who are very important in providing healthy food for the community,” he explained.
The distributed Rombong (Bojok) is designed with adequate facilities, including good storage and display. This is expected to help the vendors sell their products more effectively and attract buyers.
“Through this distribution, we hope to be able to provide benefits and convenience for traveling vegetable sellers, while encouraging the resilience of the local economy of the community in the company's operational areas,” he added.
In addition, this activity can also strengthen the relationship between the company and the local community. The company is committed to continuing to carry out various social activities that have a positive impact on the community, including in the fields of education and health.
UPZ Baznas PT Semen Gresik has been carrying out various social activities including the distribution of clean water assistance, compensation to underprivileged people (Fakir Miskin), natural disaster assistance, and other social agendas.
