Piloting for Covid-19 Handling, Semen Gresik Inaugurated as “Perusahaan Tangguh Nusantara Candi”
Rembang – PT Semen Gresik has become the first company in Central Java to won “Perusahaan Tangguh Nusantara Candi” for its success and capability in being the precedent for implementing health protocol to prevent the spread of Covid-19, Friday (3/7). The awarding event where the Regent of Rembang Abdul Hafidz, as Rembang City Police Chief Commissioner Dolly A. Primanto, and Forkopimda Rembang attended highlighted the promptness of Semen Gresik in entering the “new normal” era with strong enthusiasm of staying productive yet still safe from Covid-19.
“Perusahaan Tangguh Nusantara Candi” is an appreciation presented by the Police Station of Rembang Regency. Previously, the respective police officers also initiated several innovative programs to raise awareness in many aspects to help each other in tackling the pandemic, as reflected by Kampung Siaga Covid-19 and Kampung Tangguh Nusantara Candi.
The President Director of PT Semen Gresik, Mukhamad Saifudin, claimed that he really appreciated the “Perusahaan Tangguh Nusantara Candi” award. This appreciation could enhance PT Semen Gresik entirely to be more serious in complying with the Covid-19 health protocol once the “New Normal” policy is applied. Currently, the promptness of Semen Gresik to implement the “New Normal” policy in all operational areas and any company’s activity has reached 100%.
According to him, the business world during this pandemic was not only demanded to keep giving a big contribution to the economy, but also expected to play a role in putting an end to the spread of Covid-19. Until recently, Semen Gresik has donated IDR 3.21 billion to combat Covid-19, be it in health, economy, or social aspects.
“The effort to stop the spread of Covid-19 is not only the government’s job. It should be our responsibility, not to mention the business actors. We should stay being productive and safe from Covid-19,” Mukhamad Saifudin stated, Friday (3/7/2020).
Since the last March, Semen Gresik has implemented adequate prevention and health protocol, as well as prioritizing the safety of all staff and stakeholders. The protocol to prevent Covid-19 does not only regulate aspects related to the human or working procedure, but also the availability of supporting facilities, such as antiseptic gate, sink, hand sanitizer, face mask, and the others.
Rembang Police Chief Commissioner Dolly A. Primanto, looking forward to other companies from the small to the larger ones to follow Semen Gresik’s effort in tackling Covid-19. He believed that Semen Gresik was a considerate company regarding the Covid-19, which has been regarded as a non-natural national disaster by the government. Moreover, the standard operating procedures have turned into a habit in this leading cement industry along with the “New Normal” policy implementation.
“Rembang Regency would be very grateful to have Semen Gresik. We hope that what has been practiced by Semen Gresik can be the precedent for other companies,” he added.
