Rumah BUMN Semen Gresik Benchmarks against Rumah BUMN Yogyakarta to Expand Its Network and Strengthen MSME Capacity
Rembang, February 25, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) and Rumah BUMN (RB) Rembang facilitated the ten best finalists for the first batch of UMKM Kokoh program in 2021 to conduct benchmarking against Djoen Leather MSME and Rumah BUMN in Yogyakarta. Djoen Leather is a well-known brand that manufactures thousands of leather crafts and has penetrated the Korean and Indian markets.
The activity aims to share MSME business management governance, starting from manufacturing, packaging, technology application, to marketing quality products to be exported. Furthermore, it absorbs best practices to learn how to succeed in the MSME sector.
Yeni Indah Lestari, the CEO of Rumah BUMN Rembang, emphasized that the benchmarking was the last activity of the 2021 UMKM Kokoh program of Rumah BUMN Rembang. The activity began with the curation for MSMEs, selecting the Top 10 MSMEs to join a boot camp (training program), and then awarding top three winners.
"Rumah BUMN Rembang provided privileges to a total of ten finalists. We allowed them to conduct benchmarking. We hope that they will be inspired, motivated, and expand their network to help other MSME actors," said Lestari in a press release on Friday (25/2).
Lestari added that, during this benchmarking, the Rumah BUMN Rembang facilitator received a lot of inspiration and references from the facilitators at Rumah BUMN Yogyakarta, particularly on managing the MSMEs fostered and realizing Rumah BUMN as a co-working space to create an ecosystem in the creative economy.
On that occasion, Lestari continued that the manager of Rumah BUMN Yogyakarta also appreciated and wanted to learn about Rumah BUMN Rembang's impressive acceleration, particularly the product sales method, which exceeded more than IDR1.1 billion in a year.
The 10 finalists of UMKM Kokoh who conducted the benchmarking were Vera Damayanti (UMKM Kopi Cangkir), Ummi Salamah (Akar Jawi), Sunyoto (Dua Ikan), Erlina Restu W (Mina Food), Siti Suwaidah (Falin Fashion), Hasan Busaery (Kopi Lelet Madany), Bhekti Meirina (Bhekti Art), Saroni (Orselo), Hadi Winarto (Gunung Kendil), and Widya Wijaya (Keriyes).
The first winner of UMKM Kokoh, Ummi Salamah, expressed her admiration for the benchmarking activity. In addition to exploring ideas through activities and honing creativity through FGD and outbound, her team could benefit from this program when visiting an industry that has gone global.
"We learned about production management, administration, and others. Later, we'll apply all of that experience to our company, and perhaps, like them, we'll be able to expand internationally," Salamah remarked.
