Semen Gresik Closes Out 2022 with Sundry Brilliant Achievements
Rembang, January 13, 2023 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) closed out 2022 with brilliant achievements as it won awards in the fields of, among others, environmental management, corporate social responsibility (CSR) for community empowerment, and innovation.
Those achievements prove that PTSG remained to be a trusted cement company in the country by maintaining its commitment to sustainable development.
General Manager of Communication & Legal, Fardhi Sjahrul Ade, emphasized that those achievements were clinched in various appreciation award events on a national and international scale.
He added that the first significant achievement was an award at the 2022 Proper Hijau event from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. It was the second time that PTSG succeeded in taking actions beyond compliance or beyond what is required to manage the environment.
“We are truly grateful for the achievement at the 2022 Proper Hijau event as it proves PTSG’s commitment to environmental management, efficient use of resources, and community empowerment based on economic independence,” Ade said in a press release, Monday (13/1).
Ade continued that the next significant award was the 2022 Best Performance Award for Green Industry Implementation from the Ministry of Industry for its commitment to implementing green industry principles in the Company’s production processes and business activities.
“No less prestigious, PTSG also won the 2022 Subroto award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the category of the effective Technology Innovation of Mineral and Coal Mining to achieve Net-Zero Emission through Water Conservation by Utilizing Semen Gresik’s Retention Basin and the category of the most innovative community development and empowerment programs (PPM) for minerals through the Semen Gresik Sahabat Petani (SGSP) program,” he explained.
Another prominent achievement was winning the best program implementer at the 2022 Central Java CSR Awards. The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, granted the award himself to the Director of Finance and HR of PTSG, Supriyadi.
Ade claimed that 2022 was also a brilliant year for PTSG employees as they won appreciation awards for innovation on a national scale, i.e., four awards in the Platinum category and three awards in the Gold category at the Temu Karya Mutu dan Produktivitas Nasional (TKMPN) held in Lombok, 2022.
In addition, PTSG won second place at the SOEs Corporate Communications and Sustainability Summit (BCOMSS) Award organized by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia. “The Company’s proud achievement was signified through the innovative program of Harmonization of Industry and Environment through Integrated Farming in the Community Involvement and Development category,” said Ade.
He continued that PTSG won two awards at the 2022 TOP GRC Awards - #4 Stars and the Most Committed GRC Leader in 2022, which was granted to Subhan as the President Director of PTSG.
“Besides those achievements, the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) also appreciated PTSG’s contribution to improving the human resources of journalists across the Central Java Province at the 2022 PWI award event,” he pointed out.
Furthermore, Ade added, in terms of public relations, PTSG had succeeded in obtaining several awards, i.e., the Silver Winner award at the 2022 Public Relations Indonesia Award (PRIA) event, the 2022 Indonesian Public Relations Award (AHI) Awards, and the two awards at the 2022 BUMN award event from the Iconomics of SOE Forum.
PTSG’s next brilliant achievement was to be the people’s best cement brand choice in Central Java at the 2022 Satria Brand Awards. “It was based on the survey involving more than 15,000 respondents conducted by Media Suara Merdeka,” he explained.
Furthermore, Ade added that relating to CSR and community empowerment, PTSG received various remarkable achievements, i.e., two awards at the 2022 TOP CSR Award and the acquirement of the best score with four stars for the category of the Social Pillars of SOE Subsidiaries at the 2022 TJSL & CSR Award.
“PTSG’s consistency and commitment to community empowerment were demonstrated by the acquisition of the three best titles at the 2022 Indonesia SDG’s Awards, as well as the 2022 Marketeers SME Enablers Award for Rumah BUMN in Rembang,” he concluded.
