Semen Gresik Encouraging the Independence of Difabel Blora Mustika Community through Batik Training and Infrastructure

Rembang, October 25, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), through the SG Mandiri program, continues its commitment to improving the dignity, rights, and welfare of persons with disabilities. The efforts included providing facilities and services to support the independence of the difabel (persons with different abilities) community, namely the Difabel Blora Mustika (DBM) community.

According to the Senior Manager of Communication & CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) of PTSG, Dharma Sunyata, PTSG was capable of reinforcing its position as an inclusive company through Semen Gresik Sahabat Difabel (SGSD) by continuing to boost community empowerment, including the batik training activity for the difabel community.

"As a form of our support for the entrepreneurial independence of the difabel community, PTSG provided batik training for each member and assistance in the procurement of batik facilities and infrastructures," Sunyata explained in his press release (25/10).

The screening for the potential of the difabel community, Sunyata continued, has been carried out since 2020, and it was followed with capacity building and optimization of potential development until 2022.

"We are always enthusiastic about providing training and business development facilities for the difabel community. Hopefully, this targeted, measurable, integrated, and the accountable program can promote the welfare of persons with disabilities and encourage them to be independent and continue to be productive," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Difabel Blora Mustika, Moh. Abdul Ghofur, expressed his appreciation to PTSG for embracing and protecting the difabel community.

"We can see the enthusiasm of the difabel community in the batik training activities. They jointly designed a special batik pattern combined with the Semen Gresik logo," said Ghofur.

He expects that PTSG's empathy and contributions can encourage the members of his community to never give up on their life.
