Semen Gresik Receives Visit from Muria Raya Journalists to Its Rembang Factory

Rembang, August 14, 2023 – PT Semen Gresik welcomed journalists of the Muria Raya branch of the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI) during their visit to the company’s Rembang factory. Dozens of journalists from different prominent television media broadcasting in public channels took part in the visit.

PT Semen Gresik’s Senior Manager of Communication & CSR Dharma Sunyata expressed his appreciation of the visit of the television journalists of Muria Raya region to the factory.

“The company has been continuously committed to improving its media relations, as the media play a strategic role and occupy a position of delivering information to the public. [This] includes the company’s strategic information so that our stakeholders can also obtain correct, balanced information,” Dharma explained in a statement (Aug. 10).

Dharma added that the visit was intended to maintain a good relationship with the media and allow the media crew to see the company’s excellent, green operations up close and directly observe community empowerment programs.

“It is expected that this activity may provide benefits and continuously cultivate the relations between the company and the television journalists of the Muria Raya region,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the head of Muria Raya’s IJTI Iwhan Miftahudin expressed his joy and gratitude for the warm welcome from PT Semen Gresik’s team. As the fourth pillar of democracy, the press must maintain synergy with all parties, including state-owned enterprises.

Iwhan explained that, with the slogan of positive journalism being adopted for the celebration of IJTI’s 25th anniversary, the press had to be capable of providing balanced, positive information, and becoming the front line to fight hoaxes.

At PT Semen Gresik’s Rembang factory, the journalists were given a tour to see the results of the company’s environmental management programs and community empowerment programs in Edupark and Joglo Tani. “Hopefully, this visit can offer a positive perspective to the press. With our current, established cooperation, [it is expected to] ease the work of journalists in gathering information, particularly in the corporate environment of PT Semen Gresik,” Iwhan concluded.
