Semen Gresik Supports the Collaboration of Central Java Provincial Government and State-owned Enterprises in MSMEs Development

Rembang, January 19, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), together with Rumah BUMN Rembang facilitated by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), are committed to supporting the Central Java Provincial Government's collaborative efforts with the State-owned Enterprises to develop Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to become more competitive and agile in their business expansion.

The Central Java MSME Development Collaboration Meeting on Tuesday (18/1) at Aroem Restaurant & Ballroom Semarang reaffirmed this commitment. The agenda, which was organized for the first time, was attended by Sumarno as the Regional Secretary of Central Java, Ema Rachmawati as the Head of the Central Java Cooperatives and SMEs Office, Edy Saraya as the General Manager of CSR SIG, and dozens of representatives of Rumah BUMN managers and SMEs.

Gatot Mardiana, PTSG's Head of the Communication and Legal Department and Corporate Secretary, appreciated the forum as a collaborative effort to encourage MSMEs to grow and prosper.

Mardiana explained further that Semen Gresik would intensely support the Provincial Government in enhancing the MSMEs' capacity as the main economic agents in Central Java. One of the programs included optimizing the function of Rumah BUMN in mentoring and curating MSME products.

"Our Rumah BUMN has evolved into a business incubator for MSMEs, assisting them in penetrating online market sales on various digital platforms." In addition, there is also a Live Sale program for MSME products that collaborate with millennials," said Mardiana in a press release on Wednesday (19/1).

The achievement of the Rumah BUMN Rembang from August 2020 to December 2022, Mardiana added, is considered encouraging since it has recorded a total of IDR1.09 billion from 7,285 transactions. In addition, there are 233 MSMEs development partners with 1,378 products, 36 training sessions, and 15,000 visitors.

The discussion event was lively and dynamic because each participant presented their insight and creative ideas for the development of MSMEs. Prof. Dr. FX Sugiyanto, an economic observer at Undip, and Bio Hadikesuma, a business practitioner, also backed them up.

Sumarno, the Regional Secretary of Central Java, expects that the program will be executed immediately once the collaboration is established. He believes that Central Java will experience rapid economic growth if the MSMEs develop.

"This is the appropriate momentum to start working together in developing MSMEs, one of which is by implementing digital marketing. I believe that MSMEs will have more confidence in the future," he concluded.

The person in charge of the Rumah BUMN Bank Mandiri, Ariyawan Sutanto, expressed his appreciation for the forum's establishment. According to the Vice President of Bank Mandiri Region VII Jawa 2, this collaboration will provide learning and inspiration due to the exchange of experiences in developing MSMEs.

Furthermore, Rumah BUMN BRI Coordinator, Purwokerto, Yayan Dwiyanto, stated that this forum was essential for learning, supporting, and getting to know one another.
