"This achievement proves that Semen Gresik has adequate systems and infrastructure in place to facilitate the implementation of GCG principles. We expect that this score will also positively impact the company's performance and serve as a challenge to improve the company continuously,'' said Jibril in a press release on Monday (28/2).
He explained that the assessment aimed to measure the quality of GCG implementation by examining the implementation, implementation quality, and criteria fulfillment and comparing it to the actual conditions at Semen Gresik.

Jibril added that according to the Decree of the Secretary of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises Number: SK-16/S.MBU/2012 concerning Indicators/Parameters of Assessment and Evaluation of the Implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) on SOEs, there are six indicators/parameters for assessing and evaluating the implementation of GCG. It includes the Aspects of Commitment to the Implementation of Good and Sustainable Corporate Governance, the Aspects of Shareholders and Their General Meeting, the Aspects of the Board of Commissioners, the Aspects of the Board of Directors, the Aspects of Information Disclosure and Transparency, and Other Aspects.
Jibril emphasized that PTSG is committed to making GCG into a corporate management culture that holds on the principles of transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, fairness, and equality. Furthermore, the process of involving all company organs in decision-making is always based on high moral principles and the adherence to applicable regulations and laws.
"GCG will promote the development of a better decision-making process, increase operational efficiency, and optimize stakeholder services. In addition, it strengthens the corporate value and the stakeholders’ trust," he added.
Semen Gresik's achievements in corporate governance also received an appreciation for The Best GRC for Corporate Governance & Compliance 2021 in Manufacturing Industries at the 2021 GRC Awards event.
Jibril continued that this achievement will be maintained by disseminating the GCG to employees, measuring their level of understanding with online learning mechanisms regularly, updating GCG documents according to the latest conditions, laws and regulations, and changing the pattern of GCG management to be digital-based, which was previously carried out manually.
As parts of the GIS, PTSG's GCG achievements are expected to encourage the management of SOEs professionally, efficiently, and effectively and empower the functions of the company's organs while increasing their independence. It is also expected to increase SOEs' contributions to the national economy and improve a more favorable climate for the development of national investment.
