Semen Gresik's Srikandi Commemorate Kartini Day with Pilgrimage to RA Kartini's Grave in Rembang
Rembang, April 26th, 2024 – Commemorating Kartini Day in 2024, dozens of employees or Srikandi of PT Semen Gresik carried out the pilgrimage agenda of RA Kartini's grave in Bulu District, Rembang Regency, Central Java (26/4).
The agenda began with hearing an explanation of the genealogy and family history of RA Kartini during her time as the wife of the Regent of Rembang until her death as the Hero of Emancipation by the caretaker of the tomb. Then, it continued with a joint prayer and sowing of flowers at the tomb of RA Kartini and several other tombs.
General Manager of HC & System Management of PT Semen Gresik, Ummi Sofiana, said that this pilgrimage and prayer activity was a series of commemoration of the 145th Kartini Day, on April 21st, 2024 yesterday.
“We come to this grave complex, in addition to pilgrimage and pray for the late RA Kartini, this is also a form of respect for her for her struggle as a hero of women's emancipation in the country,” she explained.
She hopes that all Semen Gresik women will be able to emulate and continue the noble ideals of RA Kartini in their work environment and daily life.
“Women have an important role in the progress of the nation. Their real contribution is the movement of change, towards a strong Indonesia,” she said.
Meanwhile, the caretaker of RA Kartini's tomb, Wartono, expressed his gratitude for the visit and prayers from the Semen Gresik sisters. “Hopefully it can be a blessing for all of us,” he concluded.
