Semen Gresik Hands Over Dozens of Sacrificial Animals from Islamic Boarding Schools to Sedulur Sikep during Eid al-Adha Celebration
Rembang, July 31, 2020 - PT Semen Gresik handed over 73 sacrificial animals of 9 cows and 64 goats to various elements of society in Rembang and Blora. The handover of sacrificial animals is a part of the social care programs of this leading cement company while still implementing the Covid-19 health protocol.
Dozens of sacrificial animals were distributed to 28 elements of society in Rembang and Blora, starting from Islamic boarding schools, religious mass organizations, grand mosque caretakers, police and military institutions, village governments to Sedulur Sikep community.
Dharma Sunyata, the Head of Communications and Community Development Unit of PT Semen Gresik, said that the handover of sacrificial animals is one concrete manifestation of the spirit of caring and sharing of PT Semen Gresik amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
As recommended by the government and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), this year's technical distribution of sacrificial animals should comply with the Covid-19 prevention protocol. To avoid the crowds, the sacrificial animals were handed over to the recipient's representatives. Furthermore, after the sacrificial animals were slaughtered, the meat would be distributed to thousands of beneficiaries.
"We hope this activity can promote harmony, strengthen brotherhood, and the harmonious relationship between the company and the various elements of society in both Rembang and Blora," said Dharma Sunyata on Friday (7/31/2020).
Every year, Semen Gresik always hands over the sacrificial animals to the community. This year, the budget disbursed for these activities reaches IDR499 million.
One of the beneficiaries of PT Semen Gresik's sacrificial animals is Sedulur Sikep community in Klopoduwur, Banjarejo, Blora.
The elderly prominent figure of Sedulur Sikep, Mbah Lasiyo appreciated the efforts made by Semen Gresik. This year is the first time that this community, known to adhere to the noble values such as honesty, mutual cooperation, and others, to receive the sacrificial animals from Semen Gresik.
The meat of the sacrificial animals from two goats will be distributed to Sedulur Sikep community members at the special moment in the tradition that has been running for generations.
