Semen Gresik Ready to Apply "New Normal"
Rembang - PT Semen Gresik was ready to implement the "New Normal" policy in all operational areas and various company activities. The adequate health and protection protocol that prioritized employees and stakeholders safety from the Covid-19 pandemic threat was in line with the policies of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
The Head of Human Resources and Public Facilities Unit of PT Semen Gresik, Taufik Susanto, said the company's preparations for welcoming the implementation of "New Normal" had reached 100%. The preparation started with the Covid-19 prevention protocol, which regulated not only human aspects or ways of working, but also the availability of supporting infrastructure.
Covid-19 prevention protocol had also been disseminated to employees and all policymakers and stakeholders of this leading cement manufacturing company. Starting from business partners, suppliers, customers, company guests to the surrounding community. The protocol had also been implemented in entry-exit access factories, manufacturing areas, offices, and various public facilities such as places of worship, canteens, and so forth.
"Regarding various facilities such as antiseptic gates for spraying vehicles entering and exiting the company area, handwashing facilities, hand sanitizers, masks and others according to the Covid-19 prevention protocol are available. The point is we are ready with the implementation of the New Normal rules," said Taufik Susanto on Thursday (5/28/2020).
Since last March, PT Semen Gresik had implemented the Covid-19 prevention protocol in operational areas and various company activities. These efforts were also routinely reported to the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) in Jakarta. As a result, Semen Gresik had met the criteria set by the government due to its efforts.
Taufik Susanto added that the principles of occupational safety and health were company priorities. Therefore, the second week of June, he planned to conduct a rapid test for all employees of PT Semen Gresik. This applied for those who work in Rembang, Tuban, Gresik and other cities.
The rapid test was carried out by cooperating with medical personnel from the Covid-19 referral hospital. If the rapid test results indicated that there were reactive employees, it would be followed by a further inspection process, both PCR and swab tests.
"The company is committed and serious in preventing Covid-19," he said.
Head of the Department of Communication and Law of PT Semen Gresik, Gatot Mardiana, said that the company's commitment in handling Covid-19 was not only conducted internally but also
Externally. Recently, the budget that has been allocated by Semen Gresik specifically for tackling the social, economic, and health impacts of Covid-19 has been more than IDR 3 billion.
The details, for handling social impacts manifested in non-cash food assistance spent IDR 345 million. As for managing economic impacts, PT Semen Gresik allocated funds of IDR 734 million. The target is the communities in six villages around the company, both in Rembang and Blora. The activities carried out ranged from the House Yard Utilization & Local Food Development (P4L), PT Semen Gresik Integrated Agriculture, Plantation, Fisheries & Livestock Program (P4T), and the empowerment of VOEs.
As for the health assistance, the budget reached IDR 2.14 billion. The assistance was maximized for the assistance of various types of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, face shields, hazmat suits, disinfectants, hand sanitizers, handwashing facilities, checkpoint posts and so forth. The recipients of this assistance were medical staff from Covid-19 referral hospitals, community health centres to various community elements.
