SG Builds Infrastructure Worth IDR175 Million for the Asphalting of Damaged and Dangerous Village Road in Rembang

Rembang, October 10, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) provided another infrastructure cluster assistance to Kadiwono village, Rembang Regency, amounting to IDR175 million for the operation of asphalting village road measuring 362 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, which has been carried out since July 2022.

The Senior Manager of Communication & CSR PTSG, Dharma Sunyata, explained that prior to the assistance, the road connecting Kadiwono village and Mantingan village was damaged and covered with potholes, endangering people crossing the road.

"The distribution of infrastructure assistance from PTSG is a manifestation of support in accelerating the development of village infrastructure around the company for the sake of smooth access to public transportation and is expected to provide a domino effect on improving the community's economy," Dharma Sunyata explained in his press statement (10/10).

The infrastructure assistance includes a labor-intensive activity involving local village workers coordinated by the Kadiwono village government in collaboration with PTSG through the Civil Society Forum (FMM) program.

Sunyata added that this assistance is one of PTSG's supports provided through FMM activities, with a total of IDR1.75 billion distributed to six villages around the company. The assistance belongs to the infrastructure cluster, the participatory-based community empowerment cluster, and the socio-cultural cluster within the FMM program.

"PTSG is present and supports the community through the FMM program expected to bring direct beneficial aims for creating a healthy social ecosystem, an improved economy, and a sovereign village," said Sunyata.

Sunyata reaffirmed that the assistance allocation is the company's commitment to continue promoting the acceleration of village infrastructure development in compliance with SDG 9, namely 'Building Resilient Infrastructure.'

The Kadiwono Village Secretary, Slamet, expressed his gratitude to PTSG for the distribution of infrastructure assistance on the asphalting of 362 meters long village roads. According to him, the development has contributed a wide range of benefits and positive impacts for the surrounding community.

"In the past, the road connecting Kadiwono village and Mantingan village was badly damaged and covered with potholes, endangering motorcyclists who crossed it. Now, due to the asphalting assistance from the PTSG FMM program, the access road is well developed and safe for residents who pass through it," Slamet said (10/10).
