Strengthening Synergy, PT Semen Gresik Holds an Iftar Dinner with Editors-in-Chief of Media Partners Throughout Central Java

Rembang, April 21, 2022 - The management of PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) held an Iftar Meeting with dozens of editors-in-chief of media partners throughout Central Java at the Aruss Hotel, Semarang City, on Wednesday (20/4).

This annual gathering served to introduce the new Head of the Communication and Legal Department of PTSG, Fardhi Sjahrul Ade, replacing Gatot Mardiana as General Director and HR of PT Semen Baturaja. Besides Ade, PTSG's Senior Manager of Communication and CSR Unit, Dharma Sunyata, and the Head of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of Central Java, Amir Machmud NS, also attended this agenda.

Ade revealed that he was not new to PTSG since he had been involved as the head of the Rembang plant project procurement division from 2014 to 2016. Besides, he used to synergize with the media as the Head of the Communications Department of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or SIG.

''We consider the media as our partners of communication and information dissemination that help maintain the company's reputation in the community. Hopefully, we can maintain this synergy together to allow PTSG to tirelessly grow and develop, as well as embrace the challenges that come along the way,'' said Ade.

Therefore, he continued, media support is essential in publishing community-beneficial program activities.

At the gathering forum, Dharma Sunyata provided an overview of the latest progress of Semen Gresik to the media partners. The points explained by Sunyata included the production process, the contribution of the company's subsidiary through PT SMOR which involved six VOEs in the company's operational area, and the existence of the Rumah BUMN Rembang receiving appreciation from the Central Java Cooperatives and SMEs Office for upgrading MSMEs and achieving the highest transaction value in a year of IDR1.4 billion.

Sunyata also revealed that the Corporate Social Responsibility program of PTSG received the Satisfied category for the Community Satisfaction Index, as well as the brilliant achievements of Semen Gresik from 2021 to early 2022.

The chairperson of the Central Java PWI, Amir Machmud NS, explained that Semen Gresik and the media have good cooperation. Although Semen Gresik and the media have different roles, their goal is the same, namely taking part in developing the country. He also expressed his gratitude for PTSG's support to PWI in developing human resources through the Journalist Competency Test which has been held five times.

"We would like to congratulate Fardhi on his new mandate and task. We expect that Semen Gresik's cooperation with the media will be stronger,'' he said.
