Better Maturity in Risk Management, SG Reaches Its Highest Score Ever in 2022 RMI Assessment
Rembang, February 9, 2023 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) achieved 4.18 (out of 5) in the 2022 Risk Maturity Index (RMI) Assessment, reaching the category of “Managed” in levels of maturity, which surpassed the targeted 3.8 set by the company.
Head of PTSG’S Legal & GRC Unit, Ahmad Jibril, stated that PTSG’s RMI score in 2022 increased, comparing it to the 2021 score of 3.76 and 2020 one of 3.49.
He further added that for the first time in 2022, the RMI Assessment of SIG Group (6 companies) was conducted simultaneously using the same consultant and reference standards so that the results were more comprehensive.
“Alhamdulillah, the increase in the RMI score is the result of the hard work of every part of the company. Hopefully, this is to identify that the aspects of risk management are working well and whether any improvement is needed, as well as to optimize it by getting feedback and recommendations,” Jibril stated in his press statement (9/2).
He continued, the company had shown its commitment to handling risk management and ensuring that its business operations were running well and in a stable manner.
“This accomplishment proves that PTSG has achieved sufficient system and infrastructure to support the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles. This is to ensure the company is run in a proper and responsible manner towards our stakeholders such as shareholders, employees, customers, and the environment.
Ahmad Jibril added that risk management in the company was conducted properly, and therefore the company was prepared to face the challenging conditions of the era of disruption and to ensure the company’s targets would be reached in accordance with the directions from the main company.
“PTGS aims that in the future, every member of SG puts risk management as a culture in which they conduct their activities in the company, is able to minimize negative impacts of the risks emerging from the effort to achieve the company’s objectives, and is able to optimize the positive opportunities or upside risks so that these become added values to the process of attaining the company’s objectives,” he concluded.
