Rembang, March 4, 2023 – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, invited all BUMN employees and the public to take part in the health walks “Jalan Sehat Bersama BUMN” (Health Walk with BUMN) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ministry of BUMN, which were held simultaneously in 234 regencies/cities in Indonesia.

The health walks, the concept of which was “Estafet Obor BUMN dari Sabang sampai Merauke” (BUMN’s Torch Relay from Sabang to Merauke), were gradually held in 15 provinces starting from February 12 to March 19, 2023, while carrying the theme “Bersama BUMN, Menuju Indonesia Sehat” (Together with BUMN, toward Healthy Indonesia).

Jalan Sehat Bersama BUMN 2023 signified the bond between the Ministry of BUMN and the public, cultivated for 25 years, where the Ministry and the companies of BUMN continued to hope to be able to educate the public about the importance of health as the foundation of national development.

Under the directive of BUMN Minister Erick Thohir, the Ministry of BUMN ran a program called “BUMN Untuk Indonesia” (BUMN for Indonesia) in order to push the BUMN to provide the best contribution to the country and its people. As a part of BUMN, PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), which was a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG), also supported Jalan Sehat Bersama BUMN in Rembang Regency. This was reflected in the involvement of thousands of participants from the general public, BUMN employees, and the extended family of BUMN in Rembang Regency and the surrounding area.

Jalan Sehat Bersama BUMN was a collaboration of PTSG, PT Jasindo, and PTPN IX, which was held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Alun-Alun Rembang.

PTSG’s Production Director, Reni Wulandari, stated that PTSG worked in synergy with PT Jasindo, PTPN IX, and BUMN companies in Rembang to support and promote Jalan Sehat Bersama BUMN.

According to her, this health walk event aimed to encourage the people of Rembang Regency to promote a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise, which was embodied in the saying “a healthy mind in a healthy body”. “We’d like to invite you to support Jalan Sehat Bersama BUMN with joy, and to remind you to keep clean during the event,” Reni Wulandari added.

The start of Jalan Sehat was indicated by the handover of “Estafet Obor BUMN” from the bronze medalist of the shooting competitions in the Philippines’ 2019 SEA Games, Anung Satrio Wibowo, to the representative of the directors of PTSG, PT Jasindo, and PTPN IX, and later to the Regent of Rembang, H. Abdul Hafidz.

The excitement for the health walk was clearly reflected since the morning of the event, as thousands of participants of various backgrounds crowded Alun-Alun Rembang. In addition to the health walk, the event also presented musical performances, a Zumba dance program, and a UMKM bazaar market. Eighteen BUMN-assisted UMKMs took part in the event to promote their featured products.

Meanwhile, in his welcome speech, the Regent of Rembang expressed his gratitude to BUMN for organizing Jalan Sehat Bersama to celebrate the BUMN Ministry’s 25th anniversary, the theme of which was “BUMN Sehat, Indonesia Sehat”. “It is, therefore, a must for us to promote healthy lifestyles, and to together put out our effort to build a prosperous country for its people,” he explained.

The excitement of the health walk event was also sensed by its participants, and one of them was Muhammad Fajrun, who came from Lasem, Rembang; he won the event’s main prize, an electric motorcycle. “Alhamdulillah, I want to thank the BUMN Ministry for the event and the involvement of all parties in Rembang. I hope BUMN can always positively contribute to the development of Indonesia,” he concluded.
