Commemorating World Donor Day, Semen Gresik Employees Compactly Hold Blood Donation Action, and Supply Hundreds of Blood Bags to PMI
Rembang, June 14th, 2024 – PT Semen Gresik as a subsidiary of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) in synergy with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Rembang Regency, along with a social community managed by employees, OASE, routinely holds blood donation every 3 months for employees in the company environment.
As many as 140 donors from employees of PT Semen Gresik and affiliated companies participated in the blood donation activity held in the Rembang Factory environment.
Senior Manager of Communication & CSR PTSG, Sulistyono, said that this blood donation action is routinely carried out, in addition to meeting the blood supply needs of PMI. This action is also to commemorate the World Blood Donor Day which falls on June 14.
"As a tangible manifestation that the company is present in social care in the community, by actively fulfilling the need for blood supply to the PMI blood transfusion unit in the Central Java area, especially in Rembang Regency and its surroundings," Sulistyono explained.
"We are grateful that this noble act has succeeded in moving the conscience of employees to donate blood. OASE is proactive in organizing blood donation actions, seeing the condition of Rembang being an area with low fulfillment of blood bag needs compared to other surrounding districts," he added.
He continued; the OASE community is a community of Semen Gresik employees who are engaged in social activities. In addition to holding blood donation, synergy is also carried out in the agenda of socializing the prevention of dengue fever and cleaning Tegaldowo village and other social activities.
Meanwhile, the Head of OASE community of PT Semen Gresik, Kiagus Yonori Eka, said that the blood donation action has a positive impact on the health of the body, as well as providing hope for life for others and helping to fulfill the blood bag stock of PMI Rembang and the surrounding area.
"From a total of 140 donors, we routinely carry out every 3 months, and managed to supply 122 blood bags to PMI Rembang. It is hoped that this blood donation will continue to be consistent so that it will benefit many people," he concluded.
