From Rembang to The Hague, five of the best MSME products assisted by Semen Gresik are selected to participate in the 2022 Tong Tong Fair in the Netherlands
Rembang, August 8, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) deployed five of the best Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) selected products assisted by Rumah BUMN (RB) of PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) in Rembang to participate in the 2022 Tong Tong Fair (TTF) in The Hague, Netherlands, on September 1-11, 2022. The products were selected after undergoing a rigorous curation and selection process by the Ministry of SOEs from tens of thousands of SME products managed by Rumah BUMN throughout Indonesia.
The five selected MSME products assisted by RB in Rembang included Snacks (Keriyes), Ready-to-wear Batik (Batik Gunung Kendil), Batik fashion (Fallin), and Ecoprint Fashion & Craft (OKvisa), and Instant Spice Beverage (Akar Jawi).
PTSG’s Senior Manager of Communications and CSR, Dharma Sunyata, affirmed that the selection process organized by the Ministry of SOEs team has resulted in five MSME products to represent the 2022 Tong Tong Fair. Concurrently, it became an honor for Rembang Regency, proving that local products could advance to the international level.
"It is one of the programs by Semen Gresik as the mentor company to bridge MSME products toward going global, the top level of the mentoring journey at Rumah BUMN," explained Dharma Sunyata in his press statement (8/8).
Further, Sunyata asserted that through RB in Rembang, PTSG consistently brings a positive impact through mentoring and product curation. Thus, it is expected to increase the more marketable value products and create a more sustainable business transformation.
This annual festival themed "Cakrawala Indonesia Menuju Dunia" or "Indonesian Horizon toward the Global" presents Indonesian cultures, ranging from cultural arts performances, commerce activities (small and medium), economic events, and the promotion of Indonesian tourism.
Meanwhile, the owner of the batik business, Gunung Kendil, Hawien Wilopo, expressed his pleasure and honor for being selected to represent the Rembang MSMEs in the 2022 Tong Tong Fair exhibition in the Netherlands.
"My product offers the superiority of the modern hand-drawn batik motif design of Lasem that promotes the Indonesian identities with guaranteed quality since it is handmade," he said.
In the future, added Wilopo, it is expected that RB in Rembang will consistently support and always include local MSME actors in International MSME exhibitions.
