Included in the Strategic Industry, Semen Gresik Rembang Factory is Designated as a National Vital Object by the Indonesian Ministry of Industry
Rembang, January 18th, 2024 – PT Semen Gresik Rembang Factory is designated as a National Vital Object (OBVITNAS) in the field of Industry by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia. The determination is contained in the Decree of the Indonesian Minister of Industry No. 4783 of 2023 on November 16th, 2023.
This decision recognizes the strategic role and significant contribution of PT Semen Gresik Rembang Factory in supporting the progress of the National industrial sector.
Senior Manager of Legal & GRC PT Semen Gresik, Ahmad Jibril, stated that the designation as OBVITNAS is a special gift on Semen Gresik's 10th Anniversary, so this is an encouragement for the company to continue to grow to provide the best for the country.
"We are proud to be part of the growth of the cement industry in the country. This trust shows our commitment to continue to innovate, improve operational excellence, and of course contribute more to development in Indonesia," he explained.
He explained that the determination of Semen Gresik Rembang Factory as a National Vital Object was because the company had successfully fulfilled all the requirements as an industrial company.
"The requirements, namely, being able to meet important needs for the welfare of the people or control the lives of many people, increase or produce added value to strategic natural resources, provide benefits to the community through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program that is carried out, and have adequate infrastructure and security personnel," he explained.
This determination, he continued, is in line with the vision of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia to encourage sustainable and highly competitive industrial growth.
"Hopefully, this designation will be able to continue to have a positive impact on the national economy, create jobs, and become a model for sustainable business practices in the operational area," he concluded.
