Preventing the Covid-19 Cluster at Office, Semen Gresik Gets Discipline on Health Protocol

Rembang, October 19, 2020 - PT Semen Gresik (SG) maintains discipline within the scope of factory and office areas to prevent transmission of SARS-CoV-2 or Covid-19 virus. Head of the Human Resources and Public Facilities Unit of Semen Gresik, Taufik Santoso, said that there were several strategies implemented by SG so that all employees, both the organic and outsourced ones, would not be infected with the coronavirus.

As part of PT Semen Indonesia Group (SIG), Semen Gresik implements a cosmic program, which is to report every health protocol facility they have, such as hand wash sinks, hand sanitizers, socialization media, and so on to the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises through SIG's centralized reporting.

These facilities must be reported regularly once a week to the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises as an effort to control and coordinate the prevention of Covid-19 transmission in the office areas. "The report must be up to date," said Taufik in his press release, Tuesday (20/10).

In addition, Semen Gresik also provides the facilities and infrastructure needed so that all employees can work while still implementing the standard health protocol from the government, such as hand wash sinks for washing hands in the work area, hand sanitizers in each workroom, and socialization media such as posters.

Then, SG also consistently holds socialization and strengthening to the employees and their families through webinars related to the prevention of Covid-19 transmission through the BISIK (Bincang Asik Bersama Semen Gresik/Fun Talk with Semen Gresik) program.

SG, as part of SIG, is also consistent in preventing the transmission of Covid-19 on a regular basis and monitoring the health of all employees every day. If any of them or their families are sick, they will be immediately followed up whatever the disease is. "Tracing is also tightened if there are employees and their families who are affected or have symptoms," said Taufik.

He explained that the program of Covid-19 transmission prevention in the Semen Gresik factory area had started in March 2020 when the government officials urged the Indonesian people to implement the health protocols, maintain distance, and stay at home if there is no urgent need.

But, long before the official announcement, said Taufik, SG had anticipated the prevention of Covid-19 transmission in the office areas. Various media for communication, information, and socialization of Covid-19 prevention in the office area have been prepared well by SG management.  "When a person was confirmed positive in Solo, we had already made preparations for prevention steps of Covid-19 transmission in the factory area," he said.

According to him, the strategic steps to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 at the SG factory were right. Because until now, there have been no cases of employees being positively infected in the office areas. If there are employees or their families affected by Covid-19, SG urges them to be open to management. "In order to get treatment as well as assistance," he said.

SG constantly reminds all of its employees to maintain discipline as long as the Covid-19 pandemic has not ended. "The most important thing is always to maintain distance and to obey other health protocols such as wearing a mask and washing hands with soap and running water. Don't get bored of implementing health protocols," he said.
