PT Semen Gresik Supports the Improvement of Education of Public Elementary School Children in Rembang and Blora Districts

Rembang, October 23rd, 2024 – In supporting the improvement of the quality of education in the operational area through the Environmental Social Responsibility program (TJSL) Social pillar PT Semen Gresik Rembang Factory held Goes to School activities in Timbrangan Village, Pasucen Village, Rembang Regency and Ngampel Village, Blora Regency (15 - 16 October 2024).

PT Semen Gresik also distributed school equipment in the form of bags, books, stationery, which were distributed to students as a support for the spirit of learning and educational games to hone the courage, speed, and accuracy of students.

Senior Manager of Communication & CSR of PT Semen Gresik, Sulistyono, said that Semen Gresik Goes to School activities are routinely carried out every year targeting both public and private elementary schools around the company.

He continued, in the process, company representatives from the CSR unit team of PT Semen Gresik presented material in the form of a company profile along with the concept of green industry that has been implemented. The material is packaged in a fun and interactive manner in accordance with the understanding of elementary school children.

“In education, in addition to Goes to School activities, the company provides Achievement Underprivileged Scholarships (BEST) to students of State Universities (PTN) in the Rembang and Blora districts, Central Java,” he explained.

The program implemented, he added, aims to encourage the achievement of the fulfillment of quality basic human rights in a fair and equal manner to improve welfare for the entire community.

“Hopefully the students will be able to understand and know the existence and contribution of PT Semen Gresik in the community. In addition, it is also a strategic step for the company in supporting the sustainability of the company's operations,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SD N Timbrangan, Sukamto, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the implementation of SG Goes to School. According to him, this activity is a means of sharing knowledge and motivating children around the company to grow and develop.

“The students are very enthusiastic and have fun together in the implementation of the activity. Through this agenda, we hope to be able to provide many benefits and motivate children in achieving their goals,” he concluded.
