Rembang, March 13, 2023 – PT Semen Gresik again provided support in the form of infrastructure construction for Tegaldowo Village, Rembang Regency, worth Rp450,000,000. The support was provided to aid the construction of a lean concrete-based road of 500 meters long, which was completed in early March 2023.
The support was a form of assistance from Semen Gresik through a program called Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan (TJSL) of Forum Masyarakat Madani (FMM), with the total of the said support amounting to Rp 1.75 billion and being distributed to 6 villages located around the company. The support was allocated to the infrastructure section and various fields such as participation-based community empowerment and sociocultural sections.
Semen Gresik’s Senior Manager of Communication & CSR, Dharma Sunyata, stated that the construction was a part of labor-intensive, communal works that involved the village’s local workers and were coordinated by Tegaldowo’s local government in synergy with the company.
“The construction is expected to trigger a domino effect and to act as a means to sustain the economic pulse of the public by facilitating transportation access for trade and service activities,” Dharma expressed in his press statement, Monday (13/3).
Dharma added that the support was also a demonstration of the company’s commitment to pushing for accelerated development of the village’s infrastructure in accordance with the 9th goal of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure”.
“We hope that this FMM program can become a supporting factor in the development of the village community by actively involving the community in participating roles, from the planning stage up until the monitoring and evaluation stage, so that a healthy, social ecosystem of an improved economy and a self-governing village can be accomplished,” he explained (13/3).
Meanwhile, the chief of Tegaldowo, Kundari, expressed his appreciation for the distribution of support for the concrete road construction. “The road will be beneficial for the villagers in facilitating their activities and improving their economies,” he concluded.
