Reducing the Spread of DHF in the Operational Area, Semen Gresik Holds Socialization of Prevention and Clean Village Tegaldowo Rembang
Rembang, March 18th, 2024 – Entering the rainy season, as a form of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) the social pillar of PT Semen Gresik together with OASE the social community of Semen Gresik employees, in synergy with UPT Puskesmas Gunem District and Tegaldowo village government carried out efforts to prevent Dengue Fever (DHF) and clean the village in Tegaldowo village, Rembang (27/2).
Senior Manager of Communication & CSR PT Semen Gresik, Dharma Sunyata, stated that in addition to preventing the proliferation of Aides Aigepty mosquitoes, this activity is also to educate the village community around the company about the importance of a healthy lifestyle in everyday life.
According to him, during the rainy season like now, through TJSL the Social pillar of Semen Gresik seeks to make preventive efforts to prevent DHF. The activities range from the socialization of prevention, village mosquito nest eradication (PSN), and periodic monitoring of larvae in residents' homes to the distribution of 150 kilograms of free abate powder.
"This is a preventive measure to prevent dengue. We also socialize a healthy lifestyle to the village community to avoid all diseases," explained Dharma Sunyata in his press statement (18/3).
He hopes that the socialization and efforts to eradicate mosquito nests and the distribution of Abate will be able to reduce the number of DHF, especially in Gunem District. Not only that, he hopes to be able to add insight and awareness to the community to always apply a healthy lifestyle in protecting the environment.
Meanwhile, a Public Health Extension Worker of Gunem Community Health Center, Siti Khotimahtul Chusna, said that the socialization and village clean-up activities were the right steps in efforts to prevent dengue in Tegaldowo. Based on data from the Rembang District Health Office as of February 2024, there were 20 DHF patients in Tegaldowo village, and one person died.
"We hope that this activity will continue to be encouraged, especially in the affected areas in Gunem sub-district. So that it can reduce the number of BDB and other diseases caused during the rainy season," he concluded.
