Semen Gresik Allocates Rp 215 Million for Renovation of RTLH to Support Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Alleviation in Central Java

Rembang, June 6, 2023 PT Semen Gresik, in collaboration with the regional-level government working organization of Central Java province (OPD Jateng), donated Rp 215 million in total to support the extreme poverty alleviation program in 7 villages of Central Java province. The donation would be allocated for houses categorized as unfit for habitation (RTLH) and the renovation of said houses, which would begin in June 2023.

Target villages of the renovation were Wonosroyo of Wonosobo Regency, Telawah of Grobogan Regency, Prampelan of Demak Regency, Bandungsari of Grobogan Regency, Balongsari of Blora Regency, and Ronggomulyo of Rembang regency.

The Senior Manager of Communication and CSR of PT Semen Gresik, Dharma Sunyata, explained that the donation was a part of the social and environmental responsibility program (TJSL) of PT Semen Gresik that targeted those in need.

“In collaboration with OPD Jateng and relevant stakeholders, we have started allocating the donation by distributing aid to Wonosroyo village in Wonosobo regency,” he added.

Dharma stated that, in accordance with the directives of the Deputy Governor of Central Java, this was done by focusing on the alleviation of extreme poverty. Some of the efforts included the construction of habitable houses (RLH) and sanitary facilities, as well as the provision of clean water and electricity.

“We are committed to making genuine contributions to alleviating extreme poverty. With this collaboration, we hope we can provide the communities with positive and sustainable changes,” Dharma explained in his press statement (6/6).

Meanwhile, the head of the forestry branch office for Region VII in Central Java (Cabang Dinas Kehutanan Provinsi Jawa Tengah Wilayah VII), Dwi Haryanto, expressed his approval of the collaboration between the provincial government of Central Java (Pemprov Jateng) and PT Semen Gresik in supporting poverty alleviation in Central Java.

“We hope that this collaboration would continuously extend not only to RTLH but also to supporting productive economies and other relevant aspects, and therefore it would be helpful for alleviating poverty,” he concluded his statement.
