Semen Gresik Contributes the Highest PAD to Rembang Regency and Achieves Appreciation for Tax Payment Compliance
Rembang, January 24th, 2023 – PT Semen Gresik recorded the best contribution to the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) of Rembang Regency and received appreciation for compliance in tax payments in the non-metallic mineral and rock sector by the Rembang Regency Government and the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) Central Java Region I.
Within one year, according to data from the Regional Financial and Asset Management Revenue Office (BPPKAD) of Rembang Regency, Semen Gresik was listed as one of the highest tax and levy contributors in Rembang Regency, Central Java.
Senior Manager of Communication & CSR of PT Semen Gresik, Dharma Sunyata, stated that Semen Gresik consistently supports regional development and progress through economic contributions, both from taxes and levies, as well as community empowerment programs around the company.
"Since operating in 2014 until 2023, Semen Gresik has been orderly in fulfilling the obligation to pay taxes and levies in the operational area," he explained.
So, with this appreciation, continued Dharma, the hope is that it will reflect the success of the company's business strategy which is oriented towards sustainability and social responsibility.
"Efforts to encourage the progress of the operational area, Semen Gresik is consistent in empowering the community around the company through various programs," he explained.
Dharma added these programs include the environmental field through the Edupark & Integrated Livestock Plantation Agriculture (P4T) program, the field of infrastructure development in six villages around the company through the Madani Community Forum (FMM) program, the agricultural field by forming Semen Gresik Sahabat Petani (SGSP), the arts field through Semen Gresik Sahabat Seni (SGSS), and the MSME Empowerment program through Rumah BUMN (RB) Rembang.
"One of them is through the RB Rembang MSME Empowerment program. Since its establishment in August 2020 to December 2023, RB Rembang has encouraged 371 MSMEs to upgrade with the employment of 1,527 people. RB Rembang also managed to record transactions reaching Rp 3 billion during its three years of operation," he concluded.
