Semen Gresik Distributes Aid to Flood Survivors in Rembang Regency as Part of Its Commitment to Humanity
Rembang, October 20, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), through the Quick Reaction Team (TRC) of the Disaster Response Task Force in collaboration with the Regional Agency for Disaster Management (BPBD) of Rembang Regency, distributed logistical assistance to the flood survivors in Rembang Regency, Central Java.
The distributed logistical assistance covered basic food packages containing rice, cooking oil, sugar, instant noodles, and mineral water.
The Senior Manager of Communication and CSR of PTSG, Dharma Sunyata, conveyed that this logistical assistance was part of the materialization of the company's concern and empathy to support the flood survivors.
"This assistance is part of the company's commitment and social responsibility to support the community amidst the disaster. Hopefully, it will be beneficial for the survivors to recover and revive from this hard time," said Sunyata in his press release on Monday (20/10).
Sunyata continued that the logistical assistance was handed over directly to BPBD of Rembang Regency to distribute the assistance to the affected areas; thus, the distribution could be on target.
On the other side, the Sub-Coordinator for the Logistic Affairs of BPBD of Rembang Regency, Zainal, appreciated Semen Gresik for its solidarity in distributing logistical assistance to the flood survivors.
"On behalf of the Rembang Regency Government, we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude. This assistance is indeed valuable to support the flood-affected communities," he explained.
Furthermore, Zainal expected Semen Gresik, as part of the Penta-Helix program, to continue supporting disaster management, particularly for the floods in Rembang Regency.
The representative of the Secretary to Pengkol Village, Siti Khomaidah, appreciated and expressed her gratitude for the basic food packages distributed by Semen Gresik and BPBD of Rembang Regency. "We are highly grateful for this assistance. Hopefully, it will be useful and able to help the communities affected by the flood," Khomaidah concluded.
