Semen Gresik Facilitates Booster Vaccination for the Employees

Rembang, January 24, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) held the first batch of the third dose (booster) vaccination program for 78 employees at the PTSG Rembang Polyclinic on Friday (1/21). The vaccination program, which was a collaboration between PTSG and the health workers of the Gunem Community Health Center (Puskesmas Gunem), was conducted in several stages according to the availability of vaccine stock.

The Head of the Human Resources and Public Facilities Unit of PTSG, Taufik Susanto, emphasized that PTSG is committed to preventing Covid-19 cases as well as supporting the acceleration of herd immunity, among others, by improving the booster vaccination program intensified by the Government.

He said that this booster vaccination is required by everyone, including Semen Gresik employees with high mobility, to strengthen the body's resistance to the Coronavirus and its new variants.

''The management of Semen Gresik pays great attention to this vaccination program. The vaccination targeted all employees of PTSG Rembang and its business partners," said Susanto in a press release on Monday (1/24).

He explained that this vaccination was carried out in compliance with the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control Number HK.02.02/II/252/2022 concerning Advanced Dose (Booster) COVID-19 Vaccination.

Susanto continued, PTSG will consistently coordinate with the Rembang District Health Affairs Office regarding the synergy in accelerating the achievement of the third dose (booster) vaccination. PTSG targeted all of its employees to be fully vaccinated as soon as possible.

As a cement company engaged in a critical sector, PTSG continued to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the vaccination program for the employees was expected to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19, including its variants such as Omicron.

Susanto said that the Moderna vaccine's booster dose was given six months after the second dose. The administration of this third dose of vaccine was conducted in strict compliance with health protocols.

''The resistance or antibodies obtained from the first and second vaccine doses will decrease over time. Therefore, the booster vaccine is beneficial in increasing the body's immunity and maximizing the function of the two previous doses of vaccines administered to the employees," he explained.

Susanto expected that the administration of the booster vaccine could increase the immunity of Semen Gresik employees in facing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Thereby, we could further optimize our performance in providing quality services and achieving customer satisfaction.
