Semen Gresik Makes It to Top 10 SOEs in 2020 Millennial Innovation Summit

Rembang - The innovation of PT Semen Gresik's employees succeeded in setting aside hundreds of participants and entered the final stages of the Millennial Innovation Summit (MIS) SOEs competition. The innovation entitled "Industrial & Environmental Harmonization through Integrated Farming System" was considered to have a positive impact on the society and environment around this prominent cement industry. 

 

The 2020 SOE MIS is innovation and appreciation venue for young workers within the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprise. The prestigious event is expected to be able to trigger a culture of technological development and even distribution of innovation capabilities and spur millennial to contribute and become an agent of changes for SOE and Indonesia.

Innovation Officer of PT Semen Gresik Rachmad Solikin said that 156 SOEs and subsidiaries throughout Indonesia participated in this prestigious event. There were three categories of innovations competed, namely Business Strategy, Technology Breakthrough, and Social Innovation.

 

Each category was only selected the top 10 to continue to the Innovation Bootcamp round, and Judgment Panel in 2020 MIS held next July. And innovation from PT Semen Gresik was one of the works that qualified to the final round of competition for the Social Innovation category. The category was a representation of innovation that had a positive impact on society and the environment.

 

"This achievement increasingly confirms that the spirit of innovation has truly become a work culture within the scope of Semen Gresik," Rachmad Solikin said on Thursday (6/25/2020).

 

The innovators of "Industrial & Environmental Harmonization through Integrated Farming System" were cross-section employees of Semen Gresik. Starting from the mine, SMSG to CSR. The personnel were Alfi Fadhli, Fuka Yudha Praditya, Hendra, and Endar Drianto.

 

According to Endar Drianto, the innovation of Semen Gresik is in the 37 hectares of the non-IUP mining area. On this land, P4T program (Agriculture, Integrated Plantation, Livestock, and fisheries) consists of four programs integrated, i.e., Edupark, rainwater conserver pond, horticultural farm area and agriculture of Semen Gresik. This program involved various stakeholders. Starting from the management of Semen Gresik, farmers, village government, and the Village-Owned Enterprises (VOEs) around the Company's operational area. It concerns the surrounding community of Rembang Plant.

 

"There are some social impacts of this innovation, such as the knowledge transfer to farmers, revenue for VOEs, improvement of human resources quality for the community around the Company's operational area. Meanwhile, the environmental impact includes dry land getting greener and more productive with rainwater catchment pond," said the Mine Manager of PT Semen Gresik.

 

Deputy of Organizing Committee of the 2020 MIS, Andus Winarno, in his written statement, said the participants who took part in the 2020 MIS were employees of the SOEs and millennial generation subsidiaries. They are SOE excellent talents who ready to face various challenges in the future.

 

"This is in line with the spirit of the Minister of SOEs who wants to see great young talents and achievements in SOEs," said Andus Winarno who is also the Assistant Deputy of HR Management at the Ministry of SOEs.
