Strengthening Capacity Building, Semen Gresik Holds a Boot Camp Program for 20 Scholarship Awardees
Rembang, April 06, 2022 - A total of 20 students receiving the Beasiswa Prasejahtera Berprestasi (BEST) scholarship participated in a boot camp program (training and debriefing) organized by PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) at Grand Mega Resort, Cepu, Blora Regency.
PTSG's BEST scholarship program is part of the Pilar SG Cerdas program and aims to help outstanding yet underprivileged State University (PTN) students in Rembang Regency. Those 20 students went through a rigorous selection out of 61 applicants from various leading State Universities in Indonesia.
Dharma Sunyata, PTSG's Senior Manager of Communication and CSR Unit, explained that the boot camp program aimed to increase their learning motivation and improve their leadership, soft skills, as well as their public speaking skills. The program was mentored by a human resource development practitioner from Yogyakarta.
Sunyata said that the participants took part in all activities with great enthusiasm during the boot camp because this program was relevant and beneficial for their personal development and expertise. Considering that the program was held during the Covid-19 pandemic, all activities followed strict health protocols.
"We hope that the BEST scholarship awardees do not only possess intellectual abilities but also become reliable communicators to convey ideas and information to the public," Sunyata said in a press release on March 26-27, 2022.
Sunyata asserted that in addition to character building and personality development materials, the BEST scholarship awardees also received insights about PTSG's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program.
He continued, the BEST scholarship program, which started in 2018, is a testament to the commitment of the SIG Group, the PTSG's parent company, to develop superior Indonesian human resources. In addition, this program also helps improve the standard of living of the community in the Company's operational areas through the education sector so that they are able to better contribute to their families, communities, and country.
The final goal of the boot camp program, Sunyata continued, is to prepare them as PTSG's Ambassadors who will be involved in educational programs for the community.
"The BEST scholarship program is the first of a series of educational programs, including Goes to School, Inspiration Class, and Tutoring programs, that will be implemented by PTSG's CSR," he concluded.
