Strengthening the Company's Business Operational Resilience, Semen Gresik Optimizes BCMS Implementation
Rembang, March 21st, 2024 – In strengthening the company's business strategy, PT Semen Gresik held a socialization in developing the implementation of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) or business management system sustainability based on the ISO 22301: 2019 framework.
The implementation of BCMS implementation starts from December 2023 to October 2024 and was attended by the Board of Commissioners and Directors of PT Semen Gresik, as well as employees from all work units of the company.
Senior Manager of Legal & GRC PT Semen Gresik, Ahmad Jibril, explained that this is a strategy in responding to a crisis or disaster, to build resilience in limiting the impact of disasters, minimizing disruption to business processes, ensuring services continue to run, knowing what to do when a disaster occurs, and shortening the recovery time of affected services.
"The initial process of implementing BCMS was carried out after the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021 so that the company can remain sustainable until now. The implementation process continues to run, so that the implementation of BCMS in the company is getting more mature," he said.
The implementation socialization was carried out to provide a deeper understanding of BCMS to Semen Gresik employees, to deal with disaster situations and mitigation through the way of handling that will be carried out according to the ISO 22301: 2019-based business continuity management framework.
"Hopefully, the implementation in the company can be well planned and directed. So that it can support the sustainability of the company's business operations," he said.
He added that the implementation of BCMS is in line with the concept of risk management as a preventive effort to create safe and stable company operations.
"With this, it proves that PT Semen Gresik has made efforts to fulfill the adequacy of systems and infrastructure that support the implementation of the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). Ensuring the company is run in the right way and is responsible for stakeholders such as shareholders, employees, customers, and the environment," he concluded.
