Supported by Semen Gresik, Eid Parcels Sales Turnover of Rembang SME Product Reaches IDR250M with Thousands of Packages Sold

Rembang, May 27, 2022 – A total of 1,475 eid parcels of SME products of the PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) development partner were sold with a transaction value of more than IDR 250 million during last Ramadan through the "Bingkisan Berkah UKM Rembang" program (a blessing eid gifts program by Rembang SMEs). This program was facilitated by PTSG and PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) through Rumah BUMN (RB) in Rembang.

The triumph of the eid parcel sales, a collaboration between RB and the Rembang Regency Government, resulted from the support of the Provincial Government, the Rembang Local Bureaucracy (OPD), private agencies, and the community, who have massively supported the program of eid parcel product shopping; thus, thousands of SME packages could be sold out.

Dharma Sunyata, PTSG's Senior Manager of Communication and CSR Unit, asserted that the high demand for parcels amidst the challenging year suggested that SMEs businesses of the RB in Rembang development partners could constantly grow and maintain the product quality favored by the public.

Further, Sunyata acknowledged that RB had served as a shared home for hundreds of SME development partners in the company's operational areas. As a center for education, development, and digitization, RB has contributed to increasing SMEs' capacity; thus, their products can meet the standards of modern markets.

''Since its launching, last April, the eid parcels sales through the "Bingkisan Berkah UKM Rembang" program have gained positive responses from consumers. The collaboration and hard selling or pick up the ball strategies we adopted helped the sales," Sunyata remarked in a press release on Friday (27/5).

However, he revealed that this year's sales turnover decreased slightly compared to 2021, which reached IDR428 million with 2,000 packages sold. According to him, changes in people's behavior patterns were in line with the homecoming permission to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, which caused the decrease in the demand for eid parcel orders and delivery, that ultimately affected the transaction.

''This year, various efforts to boost the eid parcels sales were made, including promotion through billboards and direct sales to travelers from outside the city who came to Rembang,'' he added.

Further, Sunyata affirmed good news that all SME product packages facilitated by RB in Rembang could attract the public's attention. The sold-out products were not limited to food and beverages but also crafts and fashion. The Rembang T-shirt became one of the favorites, which travelers bought as a souvenir.

Sunyata emphasized that the support for this eid parcel program serves as a part of Semen Gresik's commitment to supporting the Central Java Provincial Government's campaign to purchase SME products and the National Economic Recovery, which is the Government's program to improve the economy amidst the pandemic.
