Supporting Extreme Poverty Alleviation in Central Java, Semen Gresik Distributes IDR 215 million for villages in 5 Central Java Districts

Rembang, August 31, 2023 – PT Semen Gresik, in collaboration with the Regional Apparatus Organization of Central Java Province, has channeled assistance worth IDR 215 million to support the extreme poverty alleviation program in seven villages across five districts in Central Java Province.

The allocation of these funds is used to accelerate development in various aspects, including the construction of habitable houses (RLH), village roads, clean water pipework, sanitation, and canal normalization. The targeted villages are Wonosroyo and Banyumudal in Wonosobo District, Prampelan in Demak District, Balongsari in Blora District, Ronggomulyo in Rembang District, and Telawah and Bandungsari in Grobogan District.

Dharma Sunyata, Senior Manager of Communication & CSR at PT Semen Gresik, stated that the distribution of aid falls under PT Semen Gresik's social and environmental responsibility program (TJSL) and is aimed at helping communities in need.

"In collaboration with the Central Java OPD and related stakeholders, the distribution of aid is closely monitored and evaluated by the PT Semen Gresik team to ensure it aligns with the planned objectives and reaches the intended beneficiaries," he explained.

He mentioned that this initiative aligns with the directives of the Vice Governor of Central Java, focusing on addressing extreme poverty. This includes the construction of habitable houses (RLH), sanitation, clean water supply, and electricity provision.

"We are committed to making a meaningful contribution to addressing extreme poverty. Through this collaboration, we hope to have a sustainable positive impact on all layers of society," Dharma elaborated.

During the aid handover event in Bandungsari, Grobogan (August 30), Taj Yasin Maimoen, the Vice Governor of Central Java Province, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration between the Central Java Provincial Government and partner companies in supporting the alleviation of extreme poverty in Central Java.

"We hope that this excellent synergy will continue to support productive economic activities and, on a broader scale, provide a positive impact on the community," he said.

Similarly, Supratono, the Secretary of Balongsari Village in Blora District, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by PT Semen Gresik. "Thank you for the assistance, and we hope it continues to benefit the residents and the surrounding environment," he concluded."
